WHAT IS

MEDIATION?

It’s a process that gives the parties an opportunity to resolve their dispute outside of court.

At Myers Law and Mediation, we bring people together to help them collaborate and resolve disputes in a way that is fair and preserves relationships.

WHAT ARE THE

BENEFITS?

  • PARTIES WORK TOGETHER
  • SAVES TIME & MONEY
  • MORE CONVENIENT
  • NON-ADVERSARIAL
  • CONFIDENTIAL (NO PUBLIC RECORD)

Mediation is a win-win! It allows the parties to work together and mutually agree to an outcome that best suits both parties’ needs. The parties avoid a win-lose or lose-lose by going to court to argue their case in front of a judge who would make the decision for them.

Mediation saves clients significant time and money. A lawsuit can continue for months in court, resulting in increased costs, additional attorney fees, and missed time from work. A mediation session can be resolved in a day.

Mediation is completely confidential. The parties’ final mutual agreement is private and does not become part of the public court record. Likewise, discussions during a mediation session cannot later be used in court as evidence against the other party.

As your mediator, I serve as a neutral facilitator, and I do not represent one party over another. I do not take the place of a judge, and I do not make any decisions in your mediation. I will listen to your concerns, understand your issues, and keep all parties focused on working together toward a mutual resolution. With my help, you can work out a solution to your dispute!

Mediation has an average success rate of 78%.

Mediation agreements have a high rate of compliance.

If you are unable to resolve the dispute in mediation, you can continue the lawsuit in court. But it is our goal to resolve the dispute, and if you do, you’ll enter into a binding written agreement that lays out the mutual terms.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER

Hi, I am Stephanie Myers. I am here to help. I am passionate about helping you resolve your legal issues with compassion and fairness. As your attorney, I will advocate for your interests and explain the process every step of the way. I will listen to your concerns and work with you toward a solution. I believe in a collaborative approach to resolving disputes, and that is why I offer mediation as part of my law practice. As your mediator, I will guide the parties to work together — where each party has a voice and negotiates their own terms — and we will finalize an agreement that is satisfying to all parties involved.

I graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. I was on the Law Review, Dean’s List, and Honor Roll. I am a Certified Civil Mediator through Michigan’s State Court Administrative Office. I am an active volunteer in the community with several non-profit organizations. I am a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Livingston County Bar Association, and Washtenaw County Bar Association. I’m also a member of The Michigan State Bar Alternative Dispute Section.
